1. What We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and hashed password. When you use the analysis feature, your messages are sent to our AI for real-time analysis but are not permanently stored unless you are logged in and choose to save results.

If you use the mobile app, we may collect:

  • Device push notification tokens (for sending alerts)
  • Device platform (iOS/Android) for service optimisation
  • Purchase and subscription data (via App Store / Google Play)

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide the DateShield analysis service
  • To manage your account and subscription
  • To improve our AI detection accuracy
  • To send transactional emails (receipts, password resets)
  • To send push notifications you have opted into

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. We use Stripe for web payment processing and never store your card details directly. Mobile payments are processed by Apple (App Store) and Google (Play Store) respectively.

4. Third-Party Services

  • OpenAI — Message analysis (data processed, not stored by OpenAI)
  • Stripe — Web payment processing
  • RevenueCat — Mobile subscription management (processes purchase receipts)
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging — Push notification delivery
  • Railway — Hosting infrastructure
  • Apple / Google — In-app purchase processing (mobile app)

5. Your Rights

You can export or delete your data at any time from your account settings. Account deletion permanently removes all your data including analyses, achievements, streaks, and subscription records. Under GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data. Contact us at hello@dateshield.ai for any data requests.

6. Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through Settings > Data > Delete Account. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Upon deletion, we remove:

  • Your profile and authentication data
  • All analysis history and results
  • Achievement and streak records
  • Subscription and billing records
  • Push notification tokens
  • Any content you have submitted

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. No third-party tracking cookies are used. See our Cookie Policy for details.

8. Children's Privacy

DateShield is intended for users aged 17 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 17. If we discover that we have collected data from a child, we will promptly delete it.
